Tips For Building an Ice Skating Rink

Here are a few tips to help you get started with building a backyard ice rink.

Step 1: Plan-Plan-Plan: There are a few things to consider before you begin.

• What will the track be used for?Family skating or hosting ice hockey games?The hockey pitch will have to become larger with higher walls to keep the wild flying hockey pucks from damaging any person or thing that could be wrong.Walls of hockey rink to be strengthened to the appropriate levels of skaters using the track.

• How many people do you expect to be on the runway at the same time? You don't want collisions, if your pitch is too small to accommodate the number of excited skaters.

Step 2: Decide the shape and location of your pitch.The surface of the track shall be flat. Before the ground gets too cold,it's time to plan for the area.If you plan to put stakes into the ground to the frame,better do it before the ground is frozen.Measuring your course and buy plastic to hold water.The lining must extend across the top of the frame.White plastic usually works the best,freezes the fastest,the ice crisp and fast.

Step 3: Determine the plastic,and filled with water.Keep loving children from your prized lane until it is well and frozen.

Step 4: Take lots of video and pictures.10 years from now you will be glad you did! Have fun!
